Aya

The name Aya is steeped in rich history, being the name of an Akkadian goddess of dawn — the wife of Shamash, the ancient Mesopotamian sun god, associated with the morning light and the rising sun. Across cultures, the name carries extraordinary breadth: in Japanese it means "design," "colourful," or "woven silk pattern," reflecting elegance and artistry. In Arabic it means "miracle" or "sign." In Hebrew it speaks of the swift flight of a bird. In Turkish-Altaic mythology, Aya was believed to be the creator of the universe, associated with the moon and known as the "white creative soul."
